How to Measure Your Bra Size at Home in Pakistan

Finding the perfect bra starts with knowing your correct size. What You Need

  • A soft measuring tape (the kind used for sewing)
  • A well-fitting, non-padded bra or no bra at all
  • A mirror to help you check the fit

Step 1: Measure Your Band Size

Wrap the measuring tape firmly around your ribcage, directly under your bust. Keep the tape parallel to the ground and make sure it's snug but not too tight. Note this measurement in inches.

  • If the number is even, add 4 inches (e.g. 28 + 4 = 32)
  • If the number is odd, add 5 inches (e.g. 29 + 5 = 34)

This gives you your band size (e.g. 32, 34, 36, 38).

Step 2: Measure Your Bust Size

Wrap the measuring tape loosely around the fullest part of your chest — across your nipples. Keep the tape parallel to the ground. Note this measurement in inches. This is your bust measurement.

Step 3: Calculate Your Cup Size

Subtract your band size from your bust measurement. The difference tells you your cup size:

  • 0 inches difference = AA cup
  • 1 inch = A cup
  • 2 inches = B cup
  • 3 inches = C cup
  • 4 inches = D cup
  • 5 inches = DD cup

So if your band size is 34 and your bust measurement is 37, the difference is 3 inches — making you a 34C.

Signs You're Wearing the Wrong Bra Size

  • The band rides up at the back
  • The straps dig into your shoulders
  • The cups overflow or have gaps
  • The underwire pokes or sits on breast tissue
  • You feel discomfort after a few hours of wear

Tips for the Best Fit

  • Always measure yourself every 6 months — your size can change with weight, age, or hormonal changes
  • Try bras on the loosest hook — as the bra stretches over time, you can tighten it
  • Different styles fit differently — a push up bra may fit slightly differently than a sports bra in the same size
